My yoga instruction is focused on proper alignment, building strength and creating space in the body.  

 

I am a certified (500hr E-RYT) yoga instructor in vinyasa and Anusara Inspired.  I studied with Bridgett Woods Kramer in London and Jason Crandall in San Francisco. I have also been influenced by embodied vinyasa styles in Los Angeles, and have mentored for two years with leading teachers of yoga for men, especially Rad Kaim in London.

I continue to work as a Digital Marketer and Strategist after a long career at leading retailers and service companies.  I understand the difficulties of finding balance in life.  As a gay man aware of the physical judgments and 'Instagram' perfect poses, I approach yoga with a body-positive, non-competitive foundation.  My teaching will inspire you physically and mentally.

What are your goals?  Losing weight, gaining muscle, more endurance, feeling better.  I start with a focused approach to developing a plan.  I started personal training to help others the way my teachers helped me.  I was over-weight and unfit, then I changed the story in my head.  I transitioned to someone who embraced a balanced approach to improving strength and health.  

As a NASM certified Personal Trainer, I studied general health principles, gaining power and endurance, and nutrition.  I also have studied extensively the psychology behind, "I can't".  Change the way you see the yourself.

FAQs

How is Aligned.Fitness different from other fitness studios?

As both a Yoga instructor and Certified Personal Trainer based in Killingworth, CT, I understand how both mental and physical fitness affects your health.  I can gear a training regiment that develops your body functionally and aligned.

Do I have to bring any equipment with me?

I have all props, mats, balls etc that we will need.  Bring yourself, water, and a towels for that sweat.  Most important, bring all you "I can't" thoughts....we'll change that.

What is Anusara Yoga

Life is good –this is a key tenet in the Tantric philosophical vision that inspires Anusara yoga teachers and students. Indeed, goodness is the absolute nature of the universe.  We focus on proper alignment to bring balance to the body.  You benefit by reducing the risk of injury and improving efficiency of the body.

Can I loose weight, Can I gain Muscle, Can I....

Yes, you can.  Weight loss is a function of changing your perspective.  I grew up with unhealthy habits that showed in me being over-weight.  I struggled with diets.  When I finally changed my perspective from 'lack' to 'abundance', I started eating better and exercising more.  
Muscle can be gained be eating right and focusing your workouts.  Have it be body-weight movement or lifting weights, a focused regiment will change your body.

Do men, or gay men do yoga?

If you think you are too stiff to do yoga, than you should be doing yoga.  I am inspired to teach men - and gay men - to help them become aware of their bodies.  It isn't just about sitting on a machine in the gym.  Test your fitness level, try yoga.  It shocked me the first time I did a men's-focused yoga class. Yoga is for men.
